王晓明博士简历
Dr Xiaoming Wang is a Principle Scientist at Urban Systems of CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences in Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), and currently acting leader of Sustainable Cities and Coasts Theme of CSIRO Climate Adaptation Flagship with more than 60 scientists. He has also developed and is leading frontier research of Climate Adaptation Engineering, and taking leadership in the research of built environment in Urban Systems Program. He is the adjunct professor with Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Sciences in Swinburne University of Technology. Xiaoming has extensive experiences working on climate impact and adaptation related projects of national significance, and is currently a contributing author to the Australasia chapter in IPCC AR5. He published almost 200 journal and conference papers, book chapters, and technical reports with collaborations in broad international and national research networks across multi- and inter-disciplines. He is an associate editor of Structural Health Monitoring, a leading international journal in the area.
He is highly skilled in multi- and inter-disciplinary research with broad knowledge and publications covering material science, mechanical and civil engineering, urban environment and sustainability, public health, and climate adaptation, specialised in smart materials, concrete and composite materials, natural hazards, structural reliability, building and infrastructure engineering, sustainable buildings and construction, risk assessment and management, data mining, GIS and spatial assessment, and climate change impacts and adaptation engineering.
Dr Xiaoming Wang obtained PhD in 1993. He was appointed as a Lecturer in 1990 and Associate Professor in 1993 at Xian Jiao Tong University, China, where he devoted himself to both teaching and research, especially pioneered the research in electro-magneto-elastic media and developed its fundamental theory for the applications in smart materials and structures. In 1996, He became a Humboldt Research Fellow in Germany, conducting research in smart structures based on piezoelectric materials, as well as monitoring of composite manufacturing processes. In 1997, he was employed by the University of Sydney as a Research Fellow, continuing working on smart materials and structures. In 2001, He was employed by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) as a senior scientist, taking the leadership in structural and infrastructural engineering research. In 2007, he was promoted to a principal scientist.
